Wat Phra That Doi Suthep

Opening Hours: Daily Location: Tambon Suthep, Amphoe Mueang, Chiang Mai Province   Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is the most important temple in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Built in the early 19th Buddhist century, the beauty of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is marked by seven-headed serpent statues that line the stairs to the temple where a Chiang Saen style golden pagoda and all its exquisite Lanna architecture is situated. The view of Chiang Mai from here is just phenomenal as well.   At Wat Phra That Doi Suthep they also have Tiaw Khuen Doi Festival, which is the travel up Doi Suthep Hill to worship the Buddhist relics enshrined there. It is an experience worth checking out.   Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is located in Tambon Suthep, Amphoe Mueang, Chiang Mai Province. Doi Suthep Hill is 14 kilometers away from the center of Chiang Mai.    If you travel by car, take the Huai Kaew - Chiang Mai University - Chiang Mai Zoo road and you will see the way to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep signposted. There are also small buses running from Chiang Mai University, which are available from 5.00 am – 5.00 pm.   Two ways to get to Phra That Doi Suthep Temple   - Walking up the seven-headed serpent stairs. It is also a great spot to take pictures.   - Taking an electric tram, which is available from 6.00 am – 6.00 pm. The fee is 20 THB for Thais and 50 THB for foreigners.

Royal Park Rajapruek

Royal Park Rajapruek was previously named as International Exposition for His Majesty the King; Royal Flora Rajapruek. It was built in the purpose of commemorating the 60th anniversary of His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Accession to the throne on June 9, 2006 as well as celebrating His Majesty’s 80th Birthday Anniversary on December 5, 2007. It is one of the most popular agro-tourism places of Chiang Mai and is counted as the center of Agricultural research. You will discover countless number of plants and varied kinds of agricultural exposition which would be advantageous to visitors at any age. Also, it is reckoned as a meeting point for agriculturist and those who are into agriculture and cultivation. It has been said that the landscape architecture of the park is gorgeous and very delicate. Thus, Ho Kham Luang Royal Pavilion and other architectural style buildings here can prove that the saying is totally true. The exposition is divided distinctly into zones which make it easier for visitors to wander around the park and learn from everything you see since the very first step of yours here as there is a 250 million years old pine tree maintained at the entrance. There are several kinds of garden here as follows: - Thai Tropical Garden is the area which showcases the diversity of Thai tropical plants. The whole areas is inside the greenhouse and represents a handful type of desert plants, herbs as well as Thai traditional houses and nursery plant pot.   - Gardens for the King is the area where both Thai government and private sectors present their garden arrangements that followed and made use of His Majesty’s theory on managing agriculture and gardening. Turn right after 10 kilometers to Ratchaphruek road for another 2 kilometers to reach Ratchaphruek garden Chiang Mai. Route 2 – From Chiang Mai town, take Chiang Mai – Hang Dong road (highway 108) then turn right in to Ratchaphruek road for another 4 kilometers to reach the destination. 

Doi Inthanon National Park

Located in Chiang Mai Province, Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand, rising  2,565 meters above sea level. Doi Inthanon National Park has lots of amazing variation in its lush geography and forest. It is home to rainforest, mixed forest, and pine forest. Getting There: Travel 58 kilometres west of Chiang Mai via Highway No. 107 to Chom Thong, then turn right into Highway No. 1009 and continue a further distance of 48 kilometres along Highway No. 1009 to the summit. A good asphalt road takes visitors up but is rather steep, thus the vehicle must be in a good condition. Visitors could pay for the entrance fee at Km. 8.
Doi Inthanon can be reached by a local truck (Song Thaeo) from Phra That Chom Thong or Mae Klang Waterfall. The Song Thaeo runs to Doi Inthanon National Park Office (Km. 31) and neighbouring villages. The fare costs 20 baht each. A chartered Song Thaeo costing around 800 baht can make stops at other attractions around the area.

Chiang Mai Night Safari

Chiang Mai Night Safari is different from other zoos because it is the biggest night safari in the world.  There are exotic 134 species with over 1,400 wildlife such as albino crested porcupines, albino raccoons, alpacas, leopards, sloth bears, clouded leopards, smooth-coated otters, white tigers, jaguars, pumas, squirrel monkeys, masked palm civets, desert foxes, Arabian camels, wild Bactrian camels, lions, nyalas, serows etc. There are performances of animals, actors, musical fountain, multi-media water curtains, and animal feeding and conservation. It is 10 kilometres from Chiang Mai. Go along Huai Kaeo Road, turn left into Highway No. 121 toward Amphoe Hang Dong for around 10 kilometres, then turn right and continue for
2 kilometres.
