Mu Koh Hong,
the Hong Islands, or the Lao Bi Le Islands is located in Than Bok Khorani National Park in Krabi Province. This is a collection of big and small islands like Koh Lao or Sa Ga, Koh Lao Riam, Koh Pak Ka, and Koh Lao Lading. Located in the south, the wing-shaped Koh Hong is the biggest island here. The geography of the island is incredible limestone, clear seas, beautiful white beaches, and deep and shallow coral reefs, so it is a perfect place for diving and fishing. On the island there is a 400 meters long nature trail if you fancy a walk. You can also canoe. The camping area charges only 20 THB per night but you have to bring your own tent. To get there: Located 46 km from the provincial town of Krabi, Mu Koh Hong is situated at Than Bokkhorani, Tambon Ao Luek Tai, a distance from the Talat Ao Luek Intersection. Proceed along the Ao Luek - Laem Sak route for 1 km. Alternatively, take the local taxi or Song Thaeo ride (Krabi – Ao Luek Neua – Tai) from Amphoe Muang and get off at the park’s entrance. |
